Desert Fox

Long before there was an "Operation Desert Fox", there was Desert Fox the Jeep. Created in the early 90's by Code One Custom Auto as a birthday present for Paul Sher Sr., the Desert Fox is a playful tribute to the hardworking army jeeps of yesteryear. Before there was the Humvee, there was the "General Purpose Vehicle, GPV or "Jeep"". Code One set out to replicate an Army Jeep based on an newer, more comfortable, platform than the traditional "Willys" Jeep and quickly realized that a mil-spec camouflaged paint job would tend to look like a vehicle painted by children with spray cans. Inspiration for the "Cartoon Camo" was provided by a Hot Wheels military Hummer located at a local toy store. The oversized pushbar for this vehicle was originally produced for a Ford F150 pickup and the light covers are the product of a manufacturer of Professional Custom Mustang 5.0 Accessories. This vehicle has often been mistaken for a military vehicle and was a particular favorite with the public during Operation Desert Fox. While making a brief television debut as the main transportation of a crimefighter in a cable television series, this vehicle is still the property and part-time transportation of Paul Sher Sr.
