Aerotech

Aerotech

When you set out to break the world landspeed record for an internal combustion engined vehicle. A good place to start is with a March indycar chassis and the most powerful engine you can build. In this case, a heavily modified Indy engine. That's just what Oldsmobile did to create the Aerotech 1. For a short time, the fastest motor vehicle on the planet. While Code One's tribute to Oldsmobile's endeavor can barely reach one-third of the original's speed, it is also less than one-third the scale. This sleek looking mini-racer is powered by a Briggs and Stratton 5 horse go-cart engine and can reach speeds well over 50 miles and hour. With the addition of a custom designed Nitrous Oxide boost system (banned from mini-drag racing in 1994) this vehicle is capable of over 100 mph. With a ground clearance of little over one-inch, operating this vehicle makes the driver feel like the vehicle is breaking the landspeed record all over again.
